7.2.7. Filename expansion

This is the expansion of the wildcards *, ? and [ ... ]:

ls [a-d]?*

expands to all files starting with a, b, c, or d and containing at least one more character.

This has been given in more detail elsewhere. It is only enabled if the setting noglob is off.
